Snowdonia

A road trip to Snowdonia is a ‘must’ if you’re an enthusiastic walker. Why? Well, have you ever heard of the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge? Snowdon is one of them. Climb up the highest mountain in Wales and you can check this off your bucket list.

However, Snowdonia is a place for relaxation too. The National Park boasts Welsh beauty in the form of green valleys, rugged mountains and lots of wildlife, as well as quaint market towns, including the famous and charming Portmeirion.

Peak District

Britain’s first National Park, the Peak District, is well worth driving to. From breath-taking views to opportunities for outdoor pursuits such as cycling, walking and wildlife watching, the Peak District has plenty to offer, so it’s no wonder it is a hotspot for tourists.

On your drive, be sure to pass through Wirksworth, one of the oldest Peak District towns, and Bakewell, a small market town that’s renowned for – you guessed it – the Bakewell pudding! Now if that doesn’t tempt you along on this road trip, we’re not sure what will!

Fancy white-knuckle thrills? You could always add in a cheeky trip to the adventure-packed Alton Towers too.

Scottish Highlands

A scenic drive through beautiful Scotland had to make our list. Start in the country’s capital and drive over to the spectacular Stirling Castle, the grandest castle in Scotland. From here, drive onto the valley of Glencoe, a natural wonder that’s steeped in history.

A tour of the Scottish Isles is truly remarkable. “Seeing is believing” springs to mind as the Isles are unlike anywhere else in the world. Explore Skye and the Orkneys by car and discover history, scenery, activity and culture.

Cornish Coast

The Atlantic Highway will get you into the heart of the far west through North Devon and North Cornwall. You can say hello to stunning sandy beaches and spectacular views. And let’s not forget tasty Cornish pasties and heavenly clotted cream…not together, of course!

The Cornish coast makes for a memorable road trip. Pack a picnic, put on your shades and get ready to be captivated by one of the best road trips of your life.

Cheddar Gorge

If you fancy visiting the West Country then why not cruise through Cheddar Gorge, England’s most iconic and spectacular landscape. Cider lovers will love this drive-thru attraction as it’s renowned for its distinctive local cider. However, if you fancy a cider-thon then it’s wise to settle down for the night.

Cheddar Gorge has officially been voted one of the best road trips in the UK, so you’d be missing out if you didn’t embark on this road trip.
